About
Eighteen years under the bar, and still the skinny kid in my head.

How I got here
There was no grand plan. Just a young guy in Memphis who was tired of how he felt walking into rooms, and a barbell that did not care about any of that.
The turn came when I got into powerlifting and got humbled. I’ve had the honor of getting to learn from and train under elite lifters, and the first thing you notice around people at that level is how unspectacular their training looks. No theatrics. Precise, repeatable work and an almost obsessive attention to position.
The second thing you notice is how generous they are with what they know. Nobody guarded information from me — they fixed my setup, told me my brace was garbage, and spotted the next set. That’s why I coach the way I do. Knowledge is supposed to move downhill.
I want to bring that knowledge to people who may just be getting started, and to experienced lifters as well.
In Bobby’s own words
My goal is to not only help people get physically stronger, but also create life-long healthy habits to give them and those around them the best version of themselves from the inside out.

Off the platform
Reps are scales.
I’ve been happily married since June 2011 to my wife, Brittani. I love Jesus, heavy music, traditional barbecue, and my dogs and cat. I grew up in Memphis, TN, where my love for music and barbecue started, and I love to share that with those around me.
I went to a Christian music school and I’ve been playing metal music as a vocalist since I was fifteen. I’m on the worship team at my church where I sing, play guitar or bass, and my wife and I lead Celebrate Recovery there as well.
Two worlds that sound nothing alike, one identical discipline underneath: you practice the boring fundamentals until they become invisible, and then you get to actually make something. Nobody wants to run scales. Everybody wants to play the song. Coaching is just teaching people to love the practice enough to earn the performance — progress is a tempo you can keep, not a sprint you abandon.
